Re-re-re Introducing Decouvertes: Be kind to all

After a 7 month hiatus (because kids, a small business and a pandemic!) we're excited to re-re-re introduce our Decouvertes newsletter.  (Almost!) every Friday we're sharing some of the little things that have inspired us, simplified our lives or just made us smile this past week.  We're incredibly thankful for you, our supportive + inspiring community, and are looking forward to sharing things that caught our attention this week with you, outside of kiddo clothing!

We'd also love to hear from you! Any books, recipes, craft projects, organizations, songs, podcasts, other small businesses that you love?  Please email us at hello@les-gamins.com and we'd love to have the opportunity to share it with our community!

  • Our dear friend, tireless activist, ultra efficient producer/photographer and loving dog-mom, Lucia Tran, has produced a beautiful short film, "In the Visible", with Director Natasha Lee about the AAPI experience.  In the Visible dismantles Asian American stereotypes through storytelling in the words 12 members of the community.

The movie also reminds us that we must continue to speak up and take action in support of the the entire BIPOC community, and that storytelling is one step in the process of addressing injustices.  Please give it a watch at www.inthevisible.co

  • I've been itching to give my wardrobe a little refresh now that we are slowly coming out of quarantine hibernation.  And as basic as it is, there is nothing that I love more than a perfect white tee! So I went on big search and here are some of my favs as well as a recommendation from friends:

  1. Jungmaven's Ojai tees are lightweight, super soft and made of organic cotton and hemp.  Currently 20% off for Earth Week

  2. I love the boxier, relaxed fit of the Entireworld Easy Tees and own these in a few colors.  Made of 100% recycled cotton; it's lightweight but not too thin.

  3. I don't own any but have heard great things about Marine Layer's Basic Tees.  The company also has a wonderful recycling program

  • Most of our friends + family are now all partially or fully vaccinated and it's been so uplifting to feel like we can start planning some get togethers and little celebrations... and even hugs!  We had a little birthday party at the park with classmates for Z's 6th (where does time go?!) birthday last weekend and these were the 3 MVP's of the party:

  1. This wagon for lugging all our stuff + food

  2. These giant bubble wands for providing hours of entertainment for all; including little and big siblings, 3 to 9 year olds alike!

  3. This set of compostable cutlery and plates for easy and earth-friendly clean up

      Have a wonderful weekend!
